Excellent First Meeting of 2017

About 40 persons attended among which were seven first time visitors.

Important announcements and information included:

  • BEE SCHOOL is coming up on Saturday, February 25th, here in Indianapolis. An all-day event is one of the largest beekeeping extravaganzas in the nation.

  • Four breakout sessions on a wide range of topics

  • Sessions suitable for both new and experienced beekeepersBeekeeping suppliers representing local and national dealers

    Much, much more!

  • Advanced Registration is a MUST. (This event accepts NO WALK-INS!)

  • A list of local suppliers was distributed. (Included were those who will be taking orders for packages and nucs.)

  • “Burdell Bees WILL again be available this year. Contact Sam Dodd [(317) 353-2475]

  • Tim Caldwell will again host a special hands-on Saturday session designed new beekeepers. Attendees will learn about equipment and be able to ask questions

  • Opportunities for Q and A

Ross Harding gave a very thorough and interesting demonstration of how he makes mead.

  • Every stage was addressed: cleaning equipment, honey proportions, yeast, racking and more

  • We were able to admire some of his handiwork.


Next meeting will be February 21st, a Tuesday.  —  We will be back on our  3rd-Monday of the month schedule.
